Letting Go

Does anyone else have a hard time throwing out the coloring books? Filled to the brim with scribbles on every page, I still struggle to throw away the artwork of my boys. I think of the hours I've enjoyed watching them color and compare pictures. Not to mention the hours they've asked me to sit beside them and pick up a crayon of my own.

I can't help but think this is a diary of sort. They can't yet express themselves with words and sentences... but pictures deliver. With a few snapshots to capture some of the cutest pages, I'm sending this stack to the recycling bin. But, it's still a little hard to let go.

I am just like you.. those memories just can't go! Also, a knitting needle? I guess it could take out an eye. We also LOVE your purse!

Cute post. I just got Claire her first coloring book a week ago. She doesn't really know what to do with it yet, but she has be enjoying her new crayons. At one point I was on the floor with her, just observing her light marks on some plain white paper. She stopped and handed me two crayons. I asked her what she wanted me to do with them, and she pointed at the paper. Maybe she does know what to do with it after all, and isn't ready to make that first artistic move.

I don't have this problem because I practically have to force my children to sit down with a coloring book. Just like their mother, they hate coloring.
