Costumes... Check!

Alllllllrighty. We're ready for the big day/night. (Technically we're not actually ready, but at least we have a plan.)

Cooper has decided that he is going to be a storm trooper. And yes, he gets how funny it is that Cooper rhymes with trooper. This was a long road, please. In the course of a few months he has gone from wanting to be a LEGO block, to Darth Vader, to Darth Maul (whateverthehellthatis?!?!), to Spiderman, to.... drum roll please... A Storm Trooper. Each time he changed his mind he was very frank about it. He just up and said, "I've changed my mind. I actually want to be --fill in the blank--."

Mason's costume is really giving me heartburn. He is in love with Buzz Lightyear and Woody (from Toy Story). I thought we would easily convince him to be one of those. Then he got a great Iron Man suit. He loves that one, but wears it nearly every day. But when I ask him what he wants to be for Halloween -- because after all, Halloween isn't everyday -- he starts breathing heavy. That's Darth Vader, right? We have a saber, and a mask, but I will be making a Darth Vader robe in a size 24 months. Seriously.

So, can't waste time online. It's off to the sewing room I go.

PS -- I also got a Darth Vader candy bucket. Has anyone seen a Storm Trooper candy bucket? Is there such a thing?

I am blown away by these elaborate costumes to be worn by my grandchildren for Halloween. What ever happened to a pair of foot PJ's and a stupid little hood with ears on it?
I love them...Hey, does Cooper know he could be in Idaho Falls' Fourth of July parade as a Storm Trooper. There are a block of them marching every year!
Won't they be cute together...Grandpa would be jealous...Hey? Grandpa is hairy enough (on his body that is) he could go as Chewie!

It's funny that I'm reading your blog post right now, as Adam and I have Star Wars on TV right now. Your kids are so cute with their costumes!
