Just Another 5 Minutes...

My children (and I) sleep rather late. It's not uncommon for the three of us to start rolling out of bed around 8 or 9. I'm not kidding. So, it's a bit ridiculous that on Saturday evening I suggested to Cooper that he should sleep in.

He looked at me rather wild eyed and said with incredulous charm, "Sleep in what?"

People, it takes a 3 year old to point out how useless our idioms are.

PHOTO NOTE: Cooper and his friends having a sleepover (his first!).

I'm not the only one?? If I don't have to get up for work or an appointment, I...well...don't. I guess some of that has to do with the fact that I can't sleep very comfortably, and I get some of my best sleep after Adam is out of bed, getting ready for work (don't tell him that, though!), so I tend to sleep longer than I should. 'Cause I have all that extra room in the bed. I like to rationalize it with the fact that I'll be up multiple times during the night in a few short weeks...

I have been so lucky to have kids that sleep in too! I love it. Maylin slept until 9:45 this morning. To me it is a happy dance. So glad to hear you sleep in too. Makes me not feel so guilty.

I'm going through a phase right now with Crew where I'll explain something to him and he'll look at me all dumbfounded and say, "What"?! I'm starting to believe he doesn't understand a word I'm saying.

This reminds me of the time we were teaching you to dance...and we said, "Stand on your toes" and you promptly covered your left foot with your right foot!
