What it means to be 6 months old…
Being 6 months old is wearing prunes on your forehead and still having people tell you that you are cute. It is also smelling like poop and having your mother – and complete strangers – sniff you and say in a loving voice, “Oh, do you have poopies?”
It’s waking up at 10 a.m., or 6 a.m., whatever strikes your fancy. It’s 3 naps a day and lazy swings in between. Sometimes it’s leisurely rides in the car or the shopping cart. Whatever – doesn’t make a difference because the view always changes for you. Other times it’s watching your brother get in trouble, be funny, and kiss you – sometimes all three at the same time.
6 months old is warm fuzzy blankets, cuddly stuffed puppy dogs (that don’t smell like being 2 years old, yet) and soft pajamas every night. Sometimes it’s soft pajamas all day long, too.
At 6 months old you’re funny and you know what’s funny. You laugh almost as much as you cry and you can usually be talked out of crying with a laugh.
This 6 month old likes short walks to the mailbox, kisses on the neck from mommy and daddy, and flipping through pictures of the whole family. Life is good at 6 months.
